"Faktura" is a Russian word inspired by the French word "facture", synonymous with "texture". It is used by avant-garde artists to designate the texture of the work's surface, which, in their eyes, determines its quality. The artist Katarzyna Kobro made works with paint and thread. Later, the female artists of the Bauhaus, which became part of Constructivism, used looms.

In this workshop, children are introduced to this tool and practice; after observing modern textile creations - patterns, colors - they create the abstract landscape of their choice, somewhere between "art and craft".

Le journal des 11-14

Inspired by the Blok (Poland) and MA (Hungary) groups

In conjunction with the exhibition Shape-Space-Form-Faktura

Age: 11 - 14
Date and Time: From October 29 to November 1, 2024 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Price: €60 for 4 afternoons (visit and workshops, including snacks)
Information: billetterie@leeufan-arles.org

A revolutionary artistic movement of the early 20th century, Constructivism rejected realism, associated with the traditional bourgeois world, in favor of simple, abstract forms, synonymous with a new world. During this week-long workshop, participants will work with a variety of graphic tools and sharpen their critical thinking skills as they explore the newspaper as an artistic object and a vehicle for information.

To do this, they take their inspiration from the journals of avant-garde international constructivist groups such as Blok (Poland) and MA (Hungary), and create a collective work in which they express their personal opinions on various societal, cultural or artistic themes.
