Art & Environment Prize 2023 - Winner

We are delighted to announce the winner of the first edition of the Art & Environnement Prize 2023, launched in collaboration with Guerlain: Djabril Boukhenaïssi.

Born in 1993 in the Paris suburbs, Djabril Boukhenaïssi graduated from the Universtät der Künste in Berlin and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Paris in 2018. He pursues his research through painting, pastel and engraving.

His work as a painter focuses on reconstructing the sensitive images he experiences and which, like everyone else, nourish his relationship with the world. If the paintings he presents seem indecisive, as if halfway to a finished representation, it's because they seek to evoke events that are themselves evanescent, fragile and poorly inscribed in our own interiority.

Represented by Galerie Sator, Djabril Boukhenaïssi exhibits Phalène there until April 20, 2024. In autumn 2024, his work will be presented at Galerie Mariane Ibrahim in Mexico City.

Come and discover the exhibition À ténèbres at Lee Ufan Arles, in July and August 2024.
